Rep. Abet Garcia sponsors proposed Philippine Budgeting Code

Bataan 2nd District Representative Abet Garcia has sponsored House Bill 8520, or the proposed Philippine Budgeting Code. The bill was deliberated at the House Committee on the Revision of Laws on May 18.

Garcia said the measure seeks to make the use of government funds more transparent, fair, and responsive to the needs of the Filipino people. He explained that the proposed legislation aims to prioritize projects and programs of local government units and regional offices that would help improve the quality of life of communities across the country.

Garcia also said the bill intends to recognize government agencies and local government units for outstanding performance to ensure that every peso spent by the government delivers clear and meaningful benefits to the public.
