Bataan got the biggest chunk of new investments among CL provinces

SAN FERNANDO CITY, Pampanga – For the second straight year, Bataan got the biggest pie of new investments in Central Luzon provinces. Citing figures from the Board of Investments, Department of Trade and Industry OIC-Regional Director Judith Angeles disclosed that Bataan got the biggest chunk of new investments at P45.64 billion while the total investments in the whole region was only P55.11 billion for the year 2014. This amount was invested in the development of Distribution, Storage and Regasification Facilities for Liquefied Natural Gas.

It will be recalled that in 2013, Bataan also received the largest share of total investments for the region, all of which was invested in energy related projects. The energy related projects were brought about by a newly-crafted law that was sponsored by then congressman now Gov. Abet Garcia.

“Rest assured that we will continue to promote the region as a logical investment destination through facilitation of services for investors, business development services, business matching activities, and support in the maintenance of the streamlined business processes of local government units to make them more competitive and business friendly,” Angeles added in a statement.
