CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Sixteen delegates from different countries such as India, Mongolia, and Bangladesh arrived in this City last July 9 to attend the Conference on Study Exchange on Adult Education in the Philippines held at Audio-Visual Room of the Balanga City Hall. Representatives of different agencies also participated in the said conference to gain a deeper understanding of the adult education program.
Hon. Mayor Joet Garcia, warmly welcomed the participants and shared the achievements of the City. In his short message, the father of Deped Balanga City, Dr Ronaldo A. Pozon, zeroed in on the importance of educating our children regardless of age. Sharing of experiences likewise came from people who joined the Project Duke, Kaanib, Educhild Parenting Program and Alternative Learning System (ALS).
One of our ALS graduates, Ms. Lian Rose Salita, now a Bachelor of Science in Education graduate said that “alternative learning system is my solid stepping stone to new opportunities”.
The delegates also had the opportunity to visit the Community Learning Center of Barangay Doña Francisca, of this City. Mr Fernan Lezada the DALSC of District I and Mrs. Gemma Rose D. Loyola, EP Specialist II of ALS with Kapitana Corazon Gonzales, graciously welcomed the delegates.
Mr. Lezada confidently handled all queries fielded by the delegates focused on the various programs, projects and services of ALS of Balanga.
Needless to say, the delegates are all going back to their respective countries with renewed commitment, inspired by the insights and learnings they gained from the Balanguenos. They are one in saying that they are impressed not only by the programs of the City of Balanga on Adult Education but also of the dedication and efforts of all the people involved in said programs, particularly Mayor Joet Garcia.
