PSA Bataan to hire 700 POPCEN staff

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Bataan is currently recruiting more than 700 census project staff composed of 31 Census Area Supervisors, 141 Team Supervisors and 539 Enumerators for the 2015 Census Population until August 1, 2015.

The hiring and recruitment process started during the convening of Provincial and City/Municipal Census Coordinating when the local government units were asked to help during the recruitment process. Examinations were held at municipal testing centers from June 30 to July 3, 2015 with the following schedules: Bagac and Samal on June 30; Hermosa, Balanga City, Pilar and Mariveles on July 1; Orani and Abucay on July 2; and Dinalupihan, Morong, Limay and Orion on July 3.

Application is still open to some areas. Applicants may visit the PSA Bataan Provincial Statistical Office at 3f Loren and Lorna Bldg. Tenejero Balanga City, Bataan for submission of resume and examination.

Enumerator will be responsible for the complete enumeration in the area/s assigned to him/her. He/she will seek the help of his/her TS regarding the problems encountered which he/she cannot resolve.

Team Supervisor will take charge of the supervision of four ENs. He/she will report to his/her CAS the progress of enumeration in the areas assigned to him/her. Hired Census Area Supervisor will be responsible for a group of five teams, with each team consisting of one team supervisor (TS) and four enumerators (ENs).

In August 2015, the POPCEN 2015 will be conducted in all barangays nationwide. It will be the 14th census of population to be undertaken in the country since the first census in 1903.

Moreover, the POPCEN 2015 will be the 3rd population census to be conducted in between two decennial censuses. Previous to POPCEN 2015, mid-decade censuses were carried out in 1995 and 2007.

PSA, designated as the major statistical to take an inventory of the population in the entire Philippines as provided for in Republic Act 10625, shall undertake the 2015 POPCEN starting August 10, 2015.
