BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Bataan Dual Training System (DTS) trainees and job order (JO) employees will soon become Social Security System (SSS) members.
TESDA-Bataan Provincial Director Grace Castillo on Monday met with SSS officers, namely: Luzon Group Senior Vice President Josie Magana, Central Luzon Division Vice President Vilma Agapito, SSS Mariveles Branch OIC Manager Jordan Herrera, and Balanga Branch Manager Joel Villafuerte in her office regarding the SSS membership of agency trainees and JO employees in the province.
DTS is a training modality that combines theoretical and practical training. It is called dual training because learning takes place alternately in two venues: the school or training center and the company or workshop. It is being implemented by TESDA.
Herrera said the SSS senior vice president will draft the memorandum of agreement and then would be forwarded to their legal department before presenting to TESDA Bataan.
He added that DTS Mitsumi Philippines Inc. Mariveles trainees will be covered first based on request of Norman Buan, coordinator of TESDA Mitsumi.
Herrera pointed out that their target is to make all TESDA DTS trainees in the country become SSS members. “DTS trainees have income and they will be registered as self employed employees”, he explained.
Herrera on Tuesday conducted an orientation among TESDA-Bataan regular and JO employees in Abucay. “Director Castillo has long been wanting her employees to become SSS members,” he said.
