A jail detainee may end up as FAB worker

Would it be possible for a person or persons deprived of liberty to end up working in a factory at the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB)?

Why not, if the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan and the Bureau of Management and Penology’s (BJMP) collaborative efforts push through.

The idea to hire PDLs as workers at a manufacturing company at the FAB came about when AFAB Administrator/CEO Hussein Pangandaman recently visited JSINSP Don Mari Phil B. Frayna, jail warden of BJMP Mariveles to discuss the possibility of hiring PDLs for possible employment in product manufacturing firms.

The meeting also explored broader collaboration initiatives with AFAB support programs aimed at strengthening efforts and improving PDLs welfare.

In its social media post, the AFAB said the collaboration will include turnover of usable items and sewing scraps, skills training seminar in sewing and welding.
