Abucay SB member inspects MRF

Municipal Councilor Jayson Marcelo, environment committee chair, motored to Barangay Salian where the municipal refuse facility was located to find out if things are alright with farmer residents in the mountainous village.

Counsilor Marcelo was reacting to reports that farmers in the upland villages of Salian, Capitangan, and Gabon are affected by certain “abo” (black ash particles) that affect the water sources.
Marcelo wants to know if reports of possible toxic waste in the area are substantial enough to merit investigation.
“We just listen to the complaints of barangay residents and will conduct our own investigation,” said Marcelo.
