Balanga City Barangay Week Program cited

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Balanga City Mayor Jose Enrique S. Garcia lll has proven his worth as an effective and committed chief executive of a fast growing component city in Central Luzon with his excellent performance in the implementation of Barangay Week Program.

Ms. Evelyn Matias, local government officer Vl of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Balanga City, described the uninterrupted barangay assemblies held for almost nine (9) years in 25 barangays have strengthened the linkages of various government agencies and private institutions toward the countryside development goal.

Matias explained the exceptional leadership of Mayor Garcia and his realistic and attainable best practices program of government are the keys to socio-economic growth in the rural areas.

She said the Barangay Week Program became an inter-active unifying force of the residents and city government in the direction of promoting and encouraging the rural residents to achieve the status of progressive community.

According to the city local government officer, the decisive advantage of visibility to public servants attending barangay immersion process is how to explain and expound on certain issues both beneficial to the authorities and village residents in the rightful venue.

By bringing the government closer to the people concept of good governance initiated by Mayor Garcia since 2008, resulted to the former Information Technology professor adoption of meaningful measures of validating the positive changes in the accomplishments of barangay week program, Matias added.
