BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The city government of Balanga will give additional P10,000 cash incentive to centenarians in this city aside from the P100,000 being given by the national government.
Councilor Benjie Merino, Chairman of Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Family and Women, Senior Citizens, Persons with Disabilities, and Solo Parents, initiated the proposed ordinance at the city council for the giving of additional P10,000 cash incentive and plaque of recogniton to centenarians in this city.
“The proposed ordinance is already in the first reading”, he said.
Republic Act 10868 provides P100,000 cash gift to Filipino centenarians coming from the national government.
“I have first discussed to Mayor Francis Garcia this giving of additional cash incentives to centenarians, and he immediately expressed full support to it. Same with Vice Mayor Vianca Venzon-Gozon who also backs the proposed ordinance”, he said.
Merino regularly meets city FSCAP officers to discuss programs, and get updated on the overall condition of senior citizens in the city.
