Heads of offices of the Municipality of Baler in Aurora Province and the Provincial Government of Camarines Norte recently visited the Hermosa Sanitary Landfill in two separate dates to study the best practices in its solid waste management.
Municipal officials of Baler headed by Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer, Ma. Liza V. Costa and Municipal Engineer Sofronio Egargue, carefully and attentively listened to the best practices explained by the EWMC personnel as well as joined the walk-through in the whole area including the main operations (tipping cells and MRF) upcycling, vegetable garden and the carpentry facility. While the delegation from Camarines Norte headed by Provincial Agriculturist Oliver Roco, PG-ENRO Teodoro Licarte and Provincial Engineer Rollie Bilalizo,
on the waste management activities.
A pump tour was conducted by the EWMC personnel showing the output of the waste management division activities such as the eco-blocks and pacers, wood works, bioenzyme, soil conditioner, fish amino acid and other items. The visitors enjoyed the tour and appreciated the learning they have gained citing that the Hermosa Sanitary Landfill is one of the best landfills they’ve ever visited saying, “very thankful po kami na nakapunta sa lugar ninyo dahil very applicable po sa lugar namin ang operations at scheme ninyo sa situation namin”, said PG-ENRO Teody Licarte.
Bilalizo also commended EWMC for being a model in the field of efficient sanitary landfill while simultaneously taking part in the corporate social responsibility through their livelihood and the eco-guardians.
