BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The unique program of empowering villages in this City dubbed “Barangay Week Program” continues under the leadership tandem of Mayor Francis Garcia and Vice Mayor Vianca Venzon-Gozon.
The program was conducted in Barangay Cupang West last week.
“Our beloved city will achieve more”, Garcia said to Cupang West folks.
He also took the opportunity to thank Gov. Abet Garcia, Cong. Joet Garcia, and concerned agencies and city departments for the assistance to residents struck by the recent flooding.
“We exhibited the spirit of Filipino bayanihan in the flooding we experienced”, said mayor’s wife Raquel Garcia.
“Let us not forget to take care of our environment”, is the constant reminder of Venzon-Gozon to local residents during the conduct of the program.
Members of Sangguniang Panlungsod also attended the barangay week program.
Aiming to empower the city’s 25 villages, activities in the barangay are assigned week-long. The program ends with barangay assembly, which is required in every barangay based in the Local Government Code.
The program has been cited as one of the best LGU practices and replicated in the other towns of the province.
