CITY OF BALANGA, Bataan – Bataan is once again hailed as Central Luzon’s Best together with its lone city and 6 municipalities (City of Balanga, Hermosa, Orani, Bagac, Pilar, Morong, and Samal), bagging the 2018 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) awards.
Validations were held last August 12 to 18 this year by the validating team from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region X headed by LGCDD Chief Hazel L. Occena.
To be considered as SGLG Awardee, a local government unit has to satisfy the certain indicators such as Financial Administration, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection, Peace & Order and Essential Indicators such as Business-friendliness and Competitiveness, Environmental Management and Tourism, Culture & Arts.
“Previously, you should pass 3 indicators plus 1 essential but now you should pass all the indicators to be considered as one of the SGLG Awardees,” said DILG-LGO Cluster Team Leader Yvette Cosio.
The announcement that the Province of Bataan, Balanga City and the municipalities of Hermosa, Orani, Bagac, Pilar, Morong, and Samal passed the said indicators came from the Central Office, of which they are also the ones who validated the required documents for the potential passers.
Awarding of the 2018 Seal of Good Local Governance will be on the last week of October this year.
