In their day-to-day dealings with children, day care workers apply specific developmental curriculum based on the traits, behavior and interest of the children. Activities are executed through news sharing, arts and crafts, indoor/outdoor games, music, poetry and storytelling using behavioral, psychomotor and psychosocial approaches.
Researchers found a positive relationship between storytelling and future linguistic, academic, literacy and emotional development among children. It was likewise found that children engaged in storytelling learn about history and culture and gain a better sense of self-esteem.
Celebrated and seasoned storytellers from Adarna House, Inc. Jay Menes and Dyali Justo are the facilitators of the said workshop. Divided into two groups for the workshop proper, the 170 participants are encouraged to respect, respond, relax and smile throughout the whole day activity while sharing the insights and learnings that they will learn.
