Dr. Rosanna Buccahan, provincial health officer, said this morning, August 8, that from January to July 25, 2019 there were 771 cases of dengue in Bataan, 30 percent lower than last year of the same period.

Dr. Buccahan said of the total 237 barangays (villages) in the province only 16 barangays were affected while only one fatality was recorded in Barangay Alangan, in Limay town.

She said the PHO is zeroing in on Barangay Alangan and adjacent villages in Limay where an intensive search and destroy mosquito breeding sites is being done.
Buccahan advised everyone to seek medical assistance once the symptoms of dengue are present. A fast lane for dengue patients is available at the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center in Balanga City.
