BALANGA CITY, Bataan – A former vice mayor of a northern Bataan town is reasonably enthusiastic with the immeasurable impact of the provincial government economic development agenda in uplifting the quality of life of the people in the countryside.
Former Samal town vice mayor Felix Espino has cited the positive growth scenario in the rural communities with the implementation of the long range socio-economic prosperity plan initiated by Bataan Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia of exploring all pertinent routes which primary objective is inclined toward the promotion of livelihood of the residents and to encourage local and foreign investors to venture in the historic peninsula.
Espino has revealed the proposed establishment of agro-industrial estate in the upland villages of Gugo and Imelda as essential progressive element to the systematic goal to achieve economic structure for the betterment of the people in the upland areas.
However, the former town official has reiterated the pro-active unified actions of all local municipal officials, Sangguniang Bayan members, multi-sectoral entities and wsell as the residents to ensure the success of the project .
He observed the on-going inevitable trend is the outcome of long standing commitment of the past provincial leadership to make the town a diversified model for agro-industrial development of highly-marketable products.
Likewise, Espino explained the setting-up agro-industrial projects in the upland areas would provide an effective method of improving socio-economic welfare of the residents.
