Bataan gears toward health innovation

The Provincial Government of Bataan through the Provincial Health Office (PHO) recently held the Bataan Health Summit 2019 attended by representatives of the different municipal and city health offices, Bataan Medical Society, Zuellig Family Foundation, and Department of Health (DOH) last November 6 at Lou-is Restaurant.

Score cards of the province, lone city and municipalities were presented by PHO Head, Dr. Rosanna Buccahan and Dr. Francisco Hermoso. Participants were given updates on the polio disease and current health care situations in the province. Samal Municipal Health Officer (MHO) Dr. Cristina Espino presented the scaling model of their integrated health system.

Highlighting the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement led by Gov. Abet Garcia together with Samal Mayor Aida Macalinao, Orani Mayor Efren Pascual, and Hermosa Mayor Antonio Inton with the Department of Health (DOH), Philhealth, University of the Philippines.

Towards the end of the Summit, eleven (11) barangays from the municipalities of Orion, Orani, Samal, Pilar, Dinalupihan, and City of Balanga were awarded Php 50,000.00 each for complying to the requirements of the 1Bataan Seal of Healthy Barangay Challenge for the months of August and September.
