Bataan has the lowest inflation rate in CL at 1.9%

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Provincial Development Council (PDC) held its second full council meeting attended by local chief executives headed by governor Abet Garcia as well as heads of national agencies at Crown Royale Hotel this City, yesterday, November 15.

Provincial Development Council (PDC) Secretary Alexander Baluyot presented the agenda of the day which include approved, proposed, and accomplished projects included from the last PDC Meeting.

Congressman Joet Garcia suggested that all proposed projects should also be sent to his and Congressman Geraldine Roman’s office so they can immediately address it
Damaged infrastructure during the onslaught of Tropical Depression Josie are still the priority projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and it is now added to the 2019 project proposal.

Updates on priority data such as mortality, prices of basic commodities, quality of education and economic growth were also presented.

On the prices of commodities in each municipality, Dinalupihan Mayor Gila Garcia said, “We should also consider quality service, not just the price range. An affordable price should also have an excellent quality service.”

As of October 2018, Bataan’s inflation rate is recorded at 1.9%, the lowest among the provinces in Region III.
Moreover, based on the province’s over-all performance regarding the 2018 City/Municipality Competitiveness Index (CMCI) ranking, Bataan is included in the top 10 in the national level and top 1 in the province category.

“I think with this data reported about the inflation rate, affordable price commodities, and top performing local government unit, Bataan is growing economically better,” said Governor Abet Garcia
