Bataan industrial growth benefits small and medium entrepreneurs

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The expansion plan of manufacturing entrepreneurs in the province’s designated industrial growth areas and economic zones with the setting up of commercial districts hasten the eco-industrial development of Bataan as one of the premier investment hubs in Central Luzon.

Ms. Cristina Arellano, proprietor of Krissa and Tyrone, a dry goods stall located at the Balanga City Greater Public Market, is expecting a more dynamic and progressive merchandise trading with the implementation of a solid economic policy of Bataan Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia which would transform the province as a healthy business alternative.

Ms. Arellano, 45, who invested P 100,000 17 years ago for the establishment of a retail store which sells school supplies, toys and other household items has predicted the conducive business atmosphere in Bataan as the outcome of assertive campaign  of the local government officials to attract more local and foreign investors.

With the arrival of locators that stimulate job opportunities, Ms. Arellano said the substantial population growth with the latest development prompted retailing business to multiply into beneficial level for small entrepreneurs.

Citing remarkable improvements and proposed construction of large scale infrastructure projects under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme like land and sea transport terminal facilities, international container port and the Bataan-Corregidor-Cavite Tollway Bridge in the Southern Bataan have basically ignited the retail merchandising business.

The national government has been encouraging industrial firms to relocate their operations outside of Metro Manila which directly promotes Bataan in the diversity program due to its strategic location, using both land and sea routes.
