Bataan is now officially 100% Malaria Free!

BALANGA CITY, Bataan. – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) received an award for being officially 100% Malaria Free all over Central Luzon awarded by the Department of Health (DOH) during the 6th Neglected Tropical Diseases Stakeholders’ Forum held at Heritage Hotel last September 13.

Bataan has no report of indigenous cases which was one of the criteria for the award. “Bataan has been 100% Malaria free since 2012 and finally the award was given to us.” said Provincial Malaria Coordinator Perlita Ortiguerra.

The award was received by Provincial Health Officer I Dra. Rosanna M. Buccahan together with the Provincial Malaria Coordinator Perlita Ortiguerra and surveillance officer from PHO.
