Bataan mayor vows to oversee environmental measures vs plastic pollution

Bagac Mayor Rommel del Rosario, on Saturday vowed to continue giving utmost priority to environmental protection policy and developing healthy environment to the fast developing travel and tourism location in Central Luzon.

Speaking before 20,000 residents of the 14 barangays, students, members and officers of various government and government agencies in Bataan during the launching of One Bagac for Zero Plastic held at Bagac town plaza, early morning of September 2l which coincided with the International Coastal Clean-up 2019, Mayor del Rosario assured the participants that his administration would undertake highly positive actions of involving environmental investments as essential aspects of our survival.
He emphasized on his short message their objective of promoting the historic town to become one of the best municipalities in the country with ecological resources at par with highly developed ecosystem .

As a leading tourist spot in Western Central Luzon area , the cooperation of the entire population and multi-faceted sectors with government should be strengthen to achieve beach resorts and other facilities of pollution free category and stopping waste materials from flowing to the sea, Mayor del Rosario added.
Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Central Luzon regional director Paquito Moreno,Jr. ,one of the guest speakers in the clean-up drive said the coastal clean-up activity in Bagac is set to accomplish one mission that is free to our seas and coastal areas from environmental threats especially plastic pollution.
Engineer Moreno added that the DENR has declared portion of Manila Bay in Bataan safe for swimming after the water quality had improved barely three months after DENR started its massive clean-up and rehabilitation of the historic bay.
