BALANGA CITY, Bataan- Camp Crame designated Sr. Supt. Rodel Sermonia as Provincial Police Director of Bataan Philippine National Police (PNP) office yesterday, surprising almost everyone, even policemen inside the PNP provincial headquarters.
A graduate of the Philipiine Military Academy (PMA) class 1989, Col. Sermonia replaced Sr. Supt. Flynn Dongbo, who had assumed the post for barely four months, the shortest duration of a PD to head Bataan PNP.
Although he led Bataan PNP only for a short time, Col. Dongbo was able to maintain the peaceful environment in the Province, earning the praise and admiration of the local officials and the residents.
His relief came one week after the Sangguniang Panlalawigan commended him for a job well done for the safe rescue of a boy kidnapped in Tarlac and the arrest of the two kidnappers in Samal town.
In his courtesy call on Gov. Abet S. Garcia at the Provincial Capitol, Sermonia vowed to sustain the peaceful atmosphere of Baatan as he presented his peace and order program to the governor. Gov. Garcia told Sermonia to continue the existing peace and order in Bataan with the series of arrival of investors in the province.
