BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Gov. Abet Garcia led the simple Christmas switch-on ceremony at the Capitol compound last night and joining him were the Bataan Risers players who happened to have their 15th game that night at the Bataan People’s Center, this City.
Gov. Garcia in his message, emphasized to let this simple Christmas lighting to remind us to have in our hearts the spirits of Love, Joy, Sharing and Good
Relationship, the very essence of Christmas in our province and appealed to the people to let it be their very first Christmas wish for tonight for the Bataan Risers to win the game.
Likewise, Mrs. Ludy Banzon, Provincial Administrator, in her welcome remarks explained the theme of the simple Christmas lighting ceremony which is “Liwanag” or light, simply means that in times of doubt and darkness, there is light and hope for everyone, that the Christmas lights at the capitol will serve as an inspiration for all, that despite the many problems besetting people nowadays, there’s always light and hope that people can look forward to for a brighter future especially now with the coming of the Son of the lord.
The highlight of the affair before the countdown, to the delight of the children watching was a short animated cartoons about love, sharing and joy that Christmas brings, as if they’re watching a children’s movie in a giant screen at the capitol compound, which really amazed them.
