Bataan leaders led by Gov. Joet Garcia see tremendous opportunities with the emerging technology thus hosting the 2-day 1st Global Blockchain Summit. The governor said blockchain technology will pave way for the promotion of digital economy.
A known modern technology user and proponent of cashless transactions, the governor said Bataan province is very much ready to be a leader in the government sector to promote the technology. He said the province is also ready to host companies engaged in the technology.
Resource speakers at the summit defined blockchain technology as a structure that stores transactional records, also known as the block, of the public in several databases, known as the “chain,” in a network connected through peer-to-peer nodes.
Garcia said it is an auspicious event to gather in one place key players in the field to abreast the public how the emerging technology can offer new economic opportunities and change for the better how people live.
Aside from technology experts from here and abroad, Department of Information and Communication Technology Sec. Ivan Uy, 2nd district Cong. Abet Garcia, AFAB Administrator Emmanuel Pineda, and Balanga City Mayor Francis Garcia joined the summit.
Uy commended the province of Bataan for staging the momentous summit and for having a foresight to harness the gain from blockchain technology for accelerated industrial and eco-tourism growth.
Experts believe blockchain technology is the future and could ignite global industrial revolution.
