THE provincial government of Bataan is poised to buy vaccines from other countries on top of what has been received from the national government.
Bataan Gov. Albert Garcia disclosed the plan during his Independence Day message delivered through 1bataan online news portal on Saturday. He said the cold chain storage is ready to stock supply of vaccines of any brand.
As early as several months ago, Gov. Garcia said the Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved P1 billon to buy vaccines, although he did not mention the brand.
In his message, Garcia likened the “war” against Covid-19 pandemic to the 1898 World War where Filipino soldiers bravely fought invaders.
“Huwag tayo sumuko sa pakikipaglaban sa COVID-19, ituloy natin ang pagsuot ng face mask, face shield at social distancing,” said the governor.
