CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Almost 200 student-athletes from elementary and secondary schools here in Bataan participated in the recently held Central Luzon Regional Athletics Association (CLARAA) Meet 2019 in Iba, Zambales and brought home 47 gold, 43 silver, and 47 bronze medals.
Although Bataan placed first in the secondary category, we placed second in the elementary category, hence we took the first runner up position in the overall ranking.
These student athletes’ hard work and dedication that brought pride and honor to our province were recognized by Gov. Abet Garcia and the provincial government employees during the traditional flag raising ceremony held this morning, February 18 at the Bataan People’s Center.
Governor Abet congratulated the student-athletes and their coaches, especially the ones who will be competing in the Palarong Pambansa this April.
The governor also added that the Provincial Government of Bataan will continuously support the sports development here in our province, like putting up more Sports and Recreational Centers throughout the province and providing regular seminars and training to the athletes and coaches, to reach our goal: “To be the Overall Champion of CLARAA”.
According to Ms. Maria Teresa Perez of DEPED Bataan, our Volleyball team (Men’s -secondary), Basketball team (Men’s-secondary), and Arnis (Elementary) will be competing for this year’s Palarong Pambansa in Davao City come April.
