BALANGA CITY, Bataan – One of the outspoken members of this province’s Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) is extremely amazed by the exceptional socio-economic boom of the historic peninsula with the continuous expansion of industrial zones.
Board member Rolando Z. Tigas, SP chair of Infrastructure Committee, said that the strengthening economy of Bataan is relatively fantastic compared to other nearby provinces in Central Luzon .
He cited the excellent foundation of creating a friendly business environment is fundamentally centered on the socio-economic strategic development programs of the late Governor and Representative Enrique “Tet” Garcia,Jr.
Board member Tigas, a two-term municipal mayor of Samal, has extolled the economic foresights of the late Governor Garcia, the father of the country’s petrochemical industry and the well-known prime mover of Iskolar ng Bataan, which served as valuable references in formulating widespread opportunities toward industrial prosperity of the province.
He pointed out the creation of Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) has become a business “magnet” that draws local and foreign investments in the province, while the operation of Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) at the Shrine of Valor would further boost the eco-tourism industry of the premier tourist destination in Central Luzon.
With AFAB operations, more investments in manufacturing and industrial sectors keep flowing in high magnitude even to other towns of Bataan, Tigas added.
