Bataan’s pride and honor


BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Two young Math wizards from Bataan once again brought pride and honor to the province and in the country as they won awards in the 14th International Mathematics Contest held in Singapore on July 27-30.

Io Aristotle Nikolai Calica, a grade 4 student of Balanga Elementary School won the silver medal. Calica was trained under the Math Trainer’s Guild of the Philippines. He also went to several trainings before in Olongapo and Manila. According to Mrs. Calica, his mother, she’s thankful and proud for Io has once again brought pride and honor to Bataan and to our country.

Another pride of Bataan, Ronniel Vincent Roberto, a grade 8 student of The Peninsula Inc. won the gold medal in the said contest. A total of 27 Filipinos won the gold, 53 silver and 116 bronze medals. According to Mrs. Roberto, Ronniel joins contests not to beat other students but to beat himself and improve his skills.

Mathematics Trainers’ Guild (MTG) Phils., a non-profit organization, continues to train students and bring home pride and honor to the Philippines.
