Officials of Bataan Baseco Joint Venture Inc. (BBJVI), led by President and CEO, Jopet Inton, visited San Miguel Corporation on April 21 for a meeting aimed at strengthening ties and discussing possible future business collaborations.
The delegation also met with representatives of SMC Shipping and Lighterage Corporation at the company’s head office in Mandaluyong City. According to BBJVI, the discussions focused on expanding relationships between the two firms and identifying potential areas for cooperation.
Among those present during the meeting were San Miguel executives Rhogel Gandingco, Thomas Tan, Matthew Tan, and two other company officials. BBJVI said the engagement reflects its continuing efforts to build strategic partnerships with major industry players.
San Miguel Corporation is one of the Philippines’ largest and most diversified conglomerates, with major interests in food and beverage, infrastructure, power, fuel, banking, and logistics. Its shipping and lighterage operations play a key role in transporting goods across the country, supporting supply chains and inter-island commerce.
For Bataan, closer ties with major corporations such as San Miguel Corporation could open opportunities in logistics, port operations, employment generation, and future investments, particularly as the province continues to position itself as an industrial and economic hub in Central Luzon.
