BDJ bags 2019 Best District Jail award

Bataan District Jail (BDJ) Superintendent Andrew Tauli received the Best District Jail award, nationwide from President Rodrigo Duterte during the 28th Anniversary of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) attended by the BJMP Offices nationwide at the Armed Forces of the Philippines Theater, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, last July 12.

Having received numerous awards in the past, this is the first time that the Bataan District Jail is recognized as the Best District Jail in the Philippines. Bataan District Jail bagged said award due to its best practices, such as on-going skills and development for persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), paralegal activity, on-going trainings provided by Alternative Learning System (ALS), food and beverage preparation, and agriculture in partnership with Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) in Hope Behind Bars program.

Bataan District Jail is committed to continue its best practices in uplifting the welfare of PDLs during detention and when they are finally reunited to their respective families.
