Beach resorts in 2 Bataan towns almost fully-booked

MORONG, Bataan – Beautiful sandy beach resorts in Bagac and Morong towns are almost fully-booked for the Holy Week, municipal mayors and tourism officers said Friday.

“Our resorts are 99% booked until May 2015,” Morong Mayor Dr. Jorge Estanislao said. Mariane de Leon, Municipal Tourism Officer, said there are 56 beach resorts in Morong 48 of which are registered and members of the Morong Registered Resort Owners’ Association.

“There are 51 registered life guards in Morong accredited by the Red Cross to look after our visitors. The resort owners in coordination with the Morong police have conducted a one-stop shop with regards to information and other activities on peace and order. Tourist police assistance per directive of Mayor Estanislao is active 24/7,” de Leon added.

Mayor Ramil del Rosario said resorts in Bagac are almost 100% booked for the Holy Week. “Police are always on alert to respond to any eventuality,” he said.

More than 41,000 tourists came in Morong in 2014, making the mountain town No. 2 next to

Balanga City in the number of tourist arrivals in Bataan. The province ranked No. 3 in Region 3

after Subic (Zambales) and Clark (Pampanga).
