BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Governor Abet Garcia congratulated the Bataan General Hospital (BGH) headed by BGH Administrator Dr. Ria Baltazar, on its 76th founding anniversary. The Governor said that we have witnessed its humble beginnings from only 20 beds and a few doctors and staff.

Governor Garcia lauded the accomplishments of Dr. Baltazar overcoming the different challenging situations of BGH from its devolution; without the funding, yet all these have shown the high level of leadership the BGH has to excel, attaining ISO-9001 2015 accreditation and is now the envy of private hospitals in the province claiming that BGH is their competitor.

Likewise, Dr. Baltazar said in her message, that despite the devolution of the hospital, the provincial government headed by Governor Abet Garcia is always there to support the programs and services of BGH. Dr. Baltazar proudly says that BGH is now on Level 3 with its 3 accredited departments, the Dept. of Pediatrics, Dept. of Anesthesia and Family Medicine, while OB-Gynecology is already on Level 2. She is happy that they’re on the right track to becoming a full-fledged Level 3 hospital with the help of Senator JV Ejercito.

Dr. Baltazar emphasized that as they push for the structural modernization of the hospital, they are also working on the quality of their services thus, have the “patient first policy” for according to her, they believe that the most important people in the hospital are their patients.

BGH, on its 75th anniversary does not only take pride on the launching of the 3 departments, the physical therapy unit building, the 3-storey pediatric building and the hemodialysis building but more so, on the ground breaking of the 5-storey pediatric building to serve better the medical needs of the people.

Aside from Senator JV Ejercito, also present in the celebration of another milestone in the history of BGH were Balanga City Mayor Francis Garcia, who read the message of Congressman Joet Garcia of the 2nd district of Bataan, Congresswoman Geraldine Roman of the 1stdistrict of Bataan, VP Walter Bacareza of the Phil Health Directors and Hubert Lapuz, President of the Philippine Hospital Association.
