Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) has clarified the implementation of the Department of Health’s Zero Balance Billing (ZBB) program under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
According to the hospital, ZBB applies only to patients admitted in basic ward accommodations, while those in the Emergency Room (ER) and Outpatient Department (OPD) are not included.
The hospital explained that No Balance Billing (NBB) in the ER is only applicable to patients whose conditions are part of the 27 priority core presentations listed under PhilHealth’s Outpatient Emergency Care Benefit (OECB) program. Patients whose complaints do not fall under the OECB list are not covered by ZBB.
BGH emphasized that even for patients not eligible under ZBB, the hospital will still provide financial assistance to help ease the burden on families in need of medical care. This, they said, is part of their commitment to ensuring access to affordable healthcare.
The hospital also urged patients and their families to coordinate with their Public Assistance and Complaint Desk for further information and clarifications. Inquiries may be made through telephone numbers 047-237-9771 and 047-237-9772.
BGH assured the public that its services remain open and that it will continue to implement government health programs designed to expand affordable healthcare access for the people of Bataan.
