BM Ferrer calls for 2nd consultative meeting

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – In its bid to protect the people, livestock and poultry farmers of the Province due to fly infestation that continue to pose a threat to public health, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, on motion of Board Member Guding Ferrer, unanimously approved the enactment of Ordinance No. 03, Series of 2014 Regulating the Operation of Livestock and Poultry Raising last October 27, 2014.

BM Ferrer (1st District) who chairs the Committee on Agriculture, Food and Fisheries called for a second consultative meeting last Tuesday, January 13 at the Bulwagan ng Bayan II, Capitol Compound, this City.

The principal subject of said meeting attended by municipal planning and development officers, agriculturists, health officers, Sangguniang Bayan Committee Chairs on Health, Agriculture, Food and Fisheries, city veterinarian, and representatives from the municipal/city treasurer’s offices is the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the abovementioned Ordinance.

With the drafting of this Ordinance’s IRR as well as the formation of the Provincial Task Force chaired by no less than Governor Abet S. Garcia, the people of Bataan, more specifically the people residing near said poultry farms as well as all other stakeholders in this fast growing industry are assured that their health as well as their business interests are well protected.
