Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) Abucay campus launched the unique 1-4-3 tree-planting project. “Each student here will plant 4 trees and would nurture them for 3 years”, said BPSU Abucay campus Director Jonathan E. Lacayanga in the recent launching.

“We will plant native tree species and not alien invasive species like mahogany”, he explained to students.

Some 1,700 fruit-bearing and forest trees were planted inside the vast campus in the project launching.
“I am proud that BPSU Abucay is doing something to the issue of climate change”, said guest Board Member Bong Galicia who was once the university physician.
BPSU President Dr. Greg Rodis and the board member led the planting of tree seedlings during the launch.
