The Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) conducted training on backyard composting using Compost Fungus Activator (CFA) for 25 Brgy. Palili, Samal residents. BPSU Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training Services Dr. Hermogenes Paguia served as resource speaker of the one-day activity.
The training held last week was conducted under the BPSU Abucay Campus Extension and Training Services Office (ETSO) headed by its Chairperson Dr. Rina Paguia.
The activity was in partnership with the barangay government of Palili. Barangay hall was used as venue. ETSO Chairperson Paguia said the training was aimed to equip household participants with the detailed knowledge on backyard composting using CFA. The training was in line with the thrust of University President Dr. Greg Rodis to help host communities by conducting trainings and extension works.
The university president has been urging Bataan folks to do backyard vegetable farming as source of foods in this time of COVID-19 pandemic. University Vice President Paguia said the composting training they conducted complements with the university’s promotion of backyard farming.
