BPSU gears up for ISO certification

BALANGA CITY, Bataan -The Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) is readying for International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification.

University key officials, faculty members and staff recently underwent a 4-day modular training on ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System here.  

Resource persons from the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) discussed quality management system with emphasis on quality management principles that include customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, improvement, evidence-based decision making, and relationship management. 

Effective approaches to organizational processes such as process approach, elements of process, QMS PDCA Cycle, risk-based thinking, and risks were likewise comprehensively discussed.

Other modular topics discussed were operational planning and control, meeting customer requirements and enhanced customer satisfaction. Aside from some essential concepts in QMS, concerns relevant to the university were also tackled.

A highlight of the training was the BPSU personnel’s signing of commitment to accomplish their roles and responsibilities in the effective implementation and sustenance of the ISO.

BPSU had adopted last year under the leadership of University President Dr. Greg Rodis a new vision, mission, and development thrusts aiming to become a leading educational institution in the country.

The BPSU has 6 campuses in the province: Main Campus, Balanga Campus, Abucay Campus, Orani Campus, Dinalupihan Campus, and Bagac Campus.
