BPSU hauls record-high 66 gold in SCUUA

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) hauled a record-high of 66 gold medals in the recently concluded regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Olympics.
“We are happy for this feat that despite limited budget our sports development program in the university is bearing fruits”, disclosed BPSU President Dr. Greg Rodis to this writer in his office with university Sport Director Dr. Romeo Nisay who reported to him the achievement.
“We will just continue our sports development program and even improve”, he said as he commended Nisay for a job well done.
“We joined SCUAA in 1998 and the 66 gold medals is the most gold we won”, the university sports director who accompanied the players compete in Tarlac State University first week of December.
The university also won 34 silver and 48 bronze. BPSU dominated arnis, chess, table tennis, and swimming events.
In chess, Judy Ann Santos made waves as she swept opponents with 9 points for the gold. For a decade now, the BPSU is dominating the chess event.
Out of 13 competing universities and colleges, BPSU placed 3rd.
