BPSU holds business forum for farmers

ABUCAY, Bataan – The Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) through the university Extension Services Office conducted a fully packed technology and business forum for farmers and stakeholders in the province held at the university campus here.

Dr. Greg Rodis is the president of BPSU while Dr. Hermogenes Paguia heads the Extension Services Office. The Research and Extension Office is under the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Auxiliary Services headed by Rudy C. Flores.

Dr. Melvin B. Carlos, Director TTPD DOST-PCAARD, served as guest speaker of the forum on Thursday. DTI Bataan OIC Provincial Director Nelin Cabahug discussed Opportunities of Entrepreneurship for Enterprise Development. DOST Bataan Director Rosalie Ona tackled Support to Project and Enterprise Development through S & T Interventions. Provincial Agriculturist Imelda Inieto explained Enhancing Opportunities for Agriculture and Fishery Projects through OPA’s Technology-Transfer Modalities and Services. PENRO Bataan Raul H. Mamac discussed Livelihood through Environmental Programs.

DOLE Bataan Head Lailani Reynoso tackled DOLE’s Employment and Livelihood Programs. TESDA Bataan Provincial Director Corazon Grace C. Castillo discussed TESDA Skills Training and Livelihood Programs. Dr. Alejandro Mojica, Vice President for Research, Extension and Training, Cavite State University updated the Status and Prospects of Coffee Production in Bataan.

Paguia discussed Goat Production in Bataan. The East-West Seeds Philippines tackled Off-Season Vegetable Production. Engr. Jonathan E. Lacayanga of BPSU discussed Aerobic Rice Production System: Improving Productivity in Water Scarce of Central Luzon, and Vertical Fed Biomass Cookstove.

Engr. Walter G. Valdez of BPSU Abucay explained Hydroponics Technology. Dr. Arturo M. Alegado tackled Organic Off-Season Tomato Production. Romualdo B. De Guzman discussed Vermi – Composting, and Rina Paguia explained Mushroom Culture.
