CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Unmindful of the rain, students, faculty members, administrators, guests and parents this morning pushed through with their parade along the main streets of this City which ended at the Bataan People’s Center to formally open this year’s university wide Intramurals of the Bataan Peninsula State University.
John Paul Manalaysay, CSC-BC President welcomed the dripping wet participants in their colorful uniforms, while USC-BPSU President, Kelvin Mallari and University President, Dr. Delfin Magpantay delivered their messages.
The “Believe” Chant which is this year’s theme was followed by a presentation of the BZ Legs and the entrance of players.
No less than the Governor of the Province, Hon. Albert S. Garcia was the guest honor. In his message, Gov. Garcia underscored the need to support our athletes. He also encouraged the students to bond with the other campuses of the University and one way to do this is thru sports. He also emphasized the need for us to revitalize our individual competitive spirit. He cited the fruits of the competitive spirit being shown by our local government officials, thru the national and local awards that the City and the Province have been reaping. Bataan is now a competitive province, competing in the international and global economy. Armed with this competitive spirit, Bataenos are ready to face life, to be the best that we can be and have a successful future, a successful and progressive Bataan. Balanga City Mayor, Joet S. Garcia also graced the said affair.
