BPSU, OCD sign MOU for disaster preparedness

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) and Office of Civil Defense (OCD) 3 have signed on Thursday a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to improve the capabilities of students and teachers on disaster preparedness.
“With the MOU, the OCD 3 will assist BPSU in any capability building on disaster preparedness”, OCD 3 Regional Director Marlou Salazar said during the signing held at the university main campus.
“We are happy that BPSU and OCD share the same thrust when it comes to preparation for disaster, calamity, and other untoward incidents”, he also said.
BPSU President Dr. Greg Rodis said, “We already have partnership with the National Resilience Council to enhance disaster preparedness for effective response. Now with the MOU with OCD, the university further improves its initiative in disaster and calamity preparedness”.
Aside from Salazar and Rodis, College of Nursing Dean Ruby Matibag, NSTP University Coordinator Joseph Pincil, University Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Services OIC Charina Cayanan signed the MOU.
Other university officials and some students witnessed the signing. Cayanan organized the activity.
