BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) Research Development Office (RDO) conducted an inception meeting with Bataan food processors here.
“We want to know if the researches we will do here in the University could help you. You have to tell us what you need. If particular researches could not help you please tell us. We need your feedback so that we could modify or prioritize”, BPSU President Dr. Greg Rodis told about 50 local food processors in a recent meeting held at the main campus.
For his part, BPSU Acting Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training Services Dr. Hermogenes Paguia said, “We want our researches to be relevant to you that’s why we are presenting them to you first”.
Some of the researches presented were polvoron molder, plastic wastes processor, cashew nut shell charcoal making, and cashew oil making, among others. Food processors gave feedback to presenting faculty researchers.
The inception meeting was also attended by representatives of DOST Bataan and Provincial Cooperative Development Office.
“What are the researchable areas of the various sectors here in our community? That is why we are holding this consultation with you to know the answer”, asked the BPSU president a month ago, to representatives of various sectors during the BPSU RDO consultation meeting here.
“The researches we are doing in BPSU will mean nothing if not adopted in the community”, he pointed out.
In the same consultation meeting, Paguia echoed the university president, “Researches have no meaning if not used and not able to help”.
“We are doing resetting of researches at RDO, we conduct this consultation so that we will know directly from you what you need”, he added.
“This is the advocacy of BPSU, to help the community”, he also said.
