BAGAC, Bataan – The Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) is seeking possible partnership with Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar for environment and tourism projects.
Rudy Flores, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Auxiliary Services, and Hermogenes Paguia, Director for Extension Services recently discussed with an official of the landmark resort possible partnership in coral restoration, environmental awareness, and underwater tourism.
Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar is a heritage resort park located in the seaside, this town. Century-old houses from their original sites were transported and rebuilt on the 400-hectare land and recreated a charming village of cobblestone streets.
Recently, delegates from Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member economies converged at the resort for the APEC Workship on Fiscal Management Through Transparency and Reforms and the APEC Senior Finance Officials’ Meeting.
Flores and Paguia had also discussed with Bataan Gov. Albert Garcia the establishment of a mangrove rehabilitation and conservation center in the province. They pointed out that mangrove center must be sustainable and could provide livelihood to local residents and may serve as a tourist attraction as well.
The establishment of a mangrove center is seen to streamline and complement the existing programs in mangrove rehabilitation of the provincial government.
