THERE will come a time when cable car will ease the public transport system in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) and the neighboring municipalities.The corporate affairs department of the Authority of Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) said on Wednesday that Bataan Gov. Abet Garcia met with Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC) officers Amelia Sept S. Ponio and Carlos Tan for an investment briefing at the Authority’s administration building to discuss the possible putting up of cable car.
It was not immediately known how much the project would cost.
Gov. Garcia informed the LRMC officers that the development and construction of innovative transport system such as a cable car transport system will help ease road congestion at the FAB and adjoining towns.
He said the new transport system will accommodate the increasing number of FAB workers as well as locators. “And I think the FAB is a perfect area to implement a cable car system because of its topography,” said the governor.
Besides, Garcia said, AFAB offers best incentives and superior facilities and business facilitation system. This is the first of its kind in the country, he said.
Present in the briefing with LRMC were Edgie Ruiz, president of Bataan-Baseco Joint Venture, Bong Pizarro, general manager of Metro Bataan Development Authority, and Atty.Aurelio Angeles of the provincial government’s Public-Private Partnership Investment Center.
