CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – It’s a gigantic step to manage our waste and at the same time, preserve our environment. This, Governor Abet said in relation to his hope of which he is really serious in his efforts in the development of a roadmap to make Bataan the “first carbon emission free province.”
Free of carbon emission, Governor Garcia explained, could be the best legacy he can leave not only for us but for the next generation. This, he stressed during the meeting with the mayor’s league on the discussion about solid waste management with Metro Clark development people.
As we all know, 87% of all human produced carbon dioxide emission which comes from burning especially of fossil fuels like coal, oil, natural gas and which the remainder results from the clearing of forest and other land use change as well as processes such as cement manufacturing.
Governor Garcia said that gradually, he wants to turn all our energy into renewable energies. He added that we need good schemes or system in line with the protection of the environment.
The good Governor even related what he did to have the house of their parents shift to solar power technology. He added that they used to pay P22K per month in electric bills, but after they used solar power, their electric bill now is only P6K.
Governor Abet said that the technology really works great with good savings that he encourage the different LGU’s to try the same and cut the cost of their electric bills though he explained further that the investment may be big but eventually through your savings you can recover your investments.
He wishes that the price of the solar power technology will eventually be affordable.
