The Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer visited on Wednesday the facilities of multi-million peso Econest Waste Management Corporation, now a category IV sanitary landfill in Barangay Mambog, Hermosa town.
Ms. Marife L. Castillo, community environment and natural resources officer based in Dinalupihan town, said the visit is a routine function of her office being done regularly to all sanitary landfill not only in Hermosa but also in other parts of Bataan.
Castillo was shown around the Econest facilities including the water treatment plant by the said firm’s president and chief executive officer Atty. Beulah Coeli C. Fiel. The inspection of important facilities, Castillo said, was “very important to assure businessmen and prospective investors of good environment suitable for investment climate.”
Atty. Fiel was confident to pass the inspection process “because we’ve been adopting stringent standard DENR rules and regulations.”
The result of inspection process will be known after 24 hours, Castillo said.
Various innovations and improvement of the landfill facilities were seen after several years of operation as a high-end landfill in Central Luzon.
