For the past years, SM Bears of Joy direct their gift-giving to children but with the onset of the pandemic, it has totally changed, they now turn-over their SM Bears of Joy to chosen organizations who in turn distribute these to chosen children of frontliners.
SM City Olongapo Central targeted the sons and daughters of the frontliners thru Police Station 3 P/Cpt Exodus Rodriguez and Olongapo City Health Officer Dr. Rodrick Bustamante while SM Downtown thru the Unity Masonic Lodge for the children of Iram Elem. School.
The SM Bears of Joy is an annual project of SM Cares, SM Supermalls and Toy Kingdom to encourage the holiday season’s joy with children in need.
This year SM Cares honored the bravery and selflessness of Covid-19 frontliners with the launch of their four specially designed bear plushies, Kit the Doctor which stands for Hope, Heart the Nurse which stands for love, Ace the Soldier which stands for Unity and Max the Police which stands for Strength.
