CITY of BALANGA, Bataan — The Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) in partnership with the Climate Change Commission held its orientation on accessing the People’s Survival Fund (PSF) together with the planning coordinators of each municipality and concerned departments, yesterday, June 19 at Crown Royale Hotel, this City.
Climate Change Commission is the lead policy-making body of the government tasked to coordinate, monitor, and evaluate government projects and ensure mainstreaming of climate change in the national, local, and sectoral plans towards a climate resilient and climate smart Philippines.
PSF is an external fund which can be acquired if the national and local budgets including the donations are not enough to support the proposed projects. The importance of the orientation is to educate the planners on how to properly access the PSF for there are a number of instances in the past when some local government units were not fully aware of the significance of the PSF. Climate Change Commissioner Noel Gaerlan said that the first thing to do is to know what is the current situation of our environment for it will be the basis of a concrete plan.
PG-ENRO Head Engr. Vic Ubaldo is hopeful that the workshop will be a big help for the Province of Bataan especially during unwanted situations.
