Concepcion drives users, pushers to become productive citizens

MARIVELES, Bataan- Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion is exploring all possible avenues to help some 700 drug users and pushers who had voluntarily surrendered to embrace the government rehabilitation program and become more productive and responsible citizens.

Mayor Concepcion is optimistic about the constructive suggestions coming from various government and private entities of formulating an effective long-range scheme which directly identify ethical and technical reformation to upgrade the status of former users and prohibited drug peddlers in the locality.

Stressing the significant role of rehabilitation in the future of former drug users and pushers, Mayor Concepcion said the government must provide tangible guides  to their  path to  dynamic  recovery and contented future.

He said the all out thrust of ensuring faster assimilation to the mainstream of society with sufficient moral and skills trainings, job opportunities for the drug surrenderees  become bigger as they turn into potent defensive mechanism to counter illegal drug proliferation in the locality.

The involvement of the cross-section of the populace in the campaign against drugs opens a myriad of prospects for fresh talents which may be contributed by the highly-trained batch of former drug dependents with brighter breaks, Concepcion added.
