Congressional Barangay Day in Balanga

BALANGA CITY, Balanga – About 3,000 residents joined Cong. Joet Garcia’s Congressional Barangay Day activity held at Vistal Mall on Wednesday.
The Bataan solon reiterated the importance of EduChild, healthy lifestyle, the no smoking policy, and other programs promoted in the barangay day activity.
He also updated residents on pressing issues affecting the province and various matters.
Vice Governor Cris Garcia representing Gov. Abet Garcia boasted of a report tagging Bataan as having the lowest poverty incidence in the country.
She also reported the high employment rate in the province due to the presence of many industrial zones like the Freeport Area of Bataan.
The hardworking vice governor vowed to continue spearheading the SP to pass any ordinances or resolutions needed by the province.
Davao City Cong. Karlo Nograles, Chairman of the Appropriations Committee in Congress, graced the event and distributed packs of groceries to residents affected by long rain.
He vowed to support the province as chairman of the appropriations committee.
Balanga City officials led by Mayor Francis Garcia and Vice Mayor Vianca Venzon-Gozon attended the activity. Bataan SK Federated President Precious Manuel also joined.
The Congressional Barangay Day program is patterned after the “Barangay Week” Cong. Garcia hatched when he was still mayor of Balanga aiming to bring closer the government to the people and empower barangays.
