House Bill 607 – Digital Teaching Excellence Act seeks to provide comprehensive training and certification for public school teachers to enhance their digital competencies and innovative teaching strategies. Roman said the measure is designed to better equip educators for technology-driven education system.
Under the bill, training programs will be accessible through DepEd Commons, TESDA Online, and other accredited e-learning platforms. The initiative will be implemented in coordination with DepEd, TESDA, DICT, and PRC, ensuring that certifications gained by teachers are officially recognized and counted as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units.
Roman emphasized that HB 607 aims to deliver improved teaching quality, stronger learning outcomes, and broader opportunities for Filipino students. “Sa panukalang ito, nais nating tiyaking may sapat na kakayahan ang ating mga guro at handa ang ating mga kabataan sa hinaharap,” he said.
